Kneel on the floor with your shins parallel and toes tucked under, then place your hands on your lower back and slowly lean back. Open your chest toward the sky like a sunflower turning to face the sun, and if comfortable, reach back to grasp your heels. Breathe deeply as you feel your heart opening with radiant joy, your spine arching like a sunflower's tall stem reaching for light, embodying the sunflower's unwavering devotion to the light.

Turning Toward the Light
(Xiang Yang Er Dong)
Sunflower Radiance (Repeat 9x)
​
1. Begin standing, feet hip-width apart, spine tall, hands resting gently at the belly.
2. Inhale as you sweep both arms wide and upward like leaves reaching for the sun.
3. Pause briefly at the top, palms facing forward, chest lifted receiving light.
4. Exhale as you gently turn the torso to one side, arms extended like a sunflower following the sun.
5. Inhale back to center, arms overhead.
6. Exhale and turn to the opposite side.
7. Return to center, then lower arms slowly to heart center.
8. Repeat 9 times, letting each cycle feel like a joyful devotion to light.
