Standing Heart Opener

(Hasta Uttanasana)

​

Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart, feeling grounded and strong. Take a deep breath and sweep your arms up overhead, then gently arch back into a heart-opening backbend. Let your chest open wide like magnificent wings, feeling the exotic beauty and freedom that radiates from your open heart.

 

Benefits: Increases chest flexibility, strengthens back muscles, improves posture

Spinal Wave with Arm Lift
(inspired by Yi Jin Jing and Flying Crane Qigong)

Practice: Wings of Radiance
(Repeat 20x)

​

1. Stand tall, feet shoulder-width apart, knees soft.

2. Inhale as you gently ripple the spine upward pelvis, belly, chest, crown like a wave rising.

3. Let the arms lift overhead as the chest opens, palms facing forward, fingers wide like wings.

4. Exhale as the arms float down in a wide arc, spine softening, returning to center.5. Repeat this wave and lift 20 times, letting each breath feel like flight.
